He made it clear that decisions regarding the provision of security or any increase in security arrangements must be based on genuine threats and actual security requirements. Sindh Home Minister further directed that additional personnel deployed in the name of security be withdrawn immediately. He also called for effective measures to eliminate security arrangements provided without proper authorization.
He emphasized that unnecessary deployments must not be allowed and that available personnel should be utilized according to actual needs and priorities. Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar further stated that the process of providing security must be transparent, effective and subject to regular monitoring. He directed the relevant institutions to make security-related decisions on the basis of credible information, the nature of threats and the recommendations of the Threat Assessment Committee to ensure the appropriate use of resources.
Sindh Home Minister said that the protection of the lives and property of the public was the government’s foremost priority. However, he noted that the availability of security personnel and their effective deployment must also be ensured.
He stressed that, rather than allocating security resources for unnecessary purposes, priority should be given to protecting individuals and locations where the nature of the threat makes the deployment of personnel essential. Sindh Home Minister directed the relevant authorities to continuously review security arrangements and complete all necessary measures in a coordinated manner. He emphasized that this approach would help protect individuals facing genuine threats while ensuring the effective utilization of the human resources of law enforcement agencies.
