Taylor Swift experienced a real-life ‘You Need To Calm Down’ moment when she was forced to ask a fan for a little privacy during a recent Kansas City Chiefs game.
It came as the 36-year-old was watching her new footballer husband, Travis Kelce, take on the Los Angeles Chargers in a VIP box with her mother-in-law, Donna Kelce, and pals Caitlin Clark and Este Haim.
However, Taylor’s fun was interrupted when she noticed a member of the public standing in front of the box filming her, despite her security already asking them not to.
During the game, the Grammy winner was captured gesturing for the fan to stop recording her.
In classic friendly Taylor style she pointed towards the pitch, telling the person with the camera to instead focus on the game — and likely turn the attention back to Travis.
The woman filming Taylor wasn’t zooming in from afar, either. She was actually standing directly in front of the VIP box and turned around to catch a glimpse — and some footage — of the singer, whom she was only separated from by a pane of glass.
While Taylor’s presence at football games is nothing new these days, she’s still often the centre of attention on social media and big screens, thanks to her sweet and often over-excited reactions to her husband’s achievements.
But whether it’s her genuine happiness and support for Travis that fans love, or the fact that the most famous woman in the world is cheering at a football game, there’s no denying she’s entitled to enjoy the event in peace.
Plenty of other fans backed her reaction up, too, after someone caught the interaction and (ironically) posted it to social media.
‘She literally asked her to stop bc she’s trying to watch the game. It’s not rude,’ one person said, as another pointed out that someone else asked them to stop: ‘The guy in the green telling her to please stop lol.’
Meanwhile, a third penned: ‘People standing under her and staring has to be so annoying,’ while a fourth echoed: ‘I do not understand how people think this is okay even after she told you to stop, you continue on until her bodyguard has to tell you to go.’
‘How do people have zero self awareness or shame getting in someone’s face taking pictures. It’s so awkward. I’m glad she told the person to knock it off and watch the game,’ a fifth added.
Of course, hardcore Swifties also suggested that Taylor likely wasn’t that annoyed over the incident. Rather, she just wanted the person to actually enjoy the game they had paid to see.
They said: ‘We can see she’s smiling in the end, she’s probably just telling her smth like, “you paid to see the game you should watch it lol,” why would people directly assume she’s mad.’
A second agreed: ‘She was nice about it, ur hear to watch the game.’
Taylor didn’t seem to be too irritated about the situation for long, either. Throughout the game, she was seen being her usual upbeat self, hugging her mother-in-law, and sipping on beverages that resembled Aperol Spritz.
The Patient Zero singer also looked stunning, wearing a red high-neck top in solidarity with the Chiefs’ kit and her signature red lip. She wore her honey blonde locks in a cool straight blow-dry, sporting her classic bangs.
Taylor has been seen out and about recently in New York and beyond with her husband Travis, after the pair kept a low profile for a couple of months after their extravagant Madison Square Garden wedding.
The nuptials reportedly cost an estimated $20 million to $30 million+, and was attended by almost every celebrity under the sun, from Selena Gomez to Graham Norton and Dakota Johnson to Greg James.
