DAEJEON — The Korea Smart Innovation Entrepreneurs Association said on Oct. 16 that it held its third autumn concert the previous day at the athletic field of Daejeon Health Institute of Technology.
The event brought together association members, their families and local residents to enjoy and share in the arts.
The group held its first concert in 2024 at the Dududang cafe in Daejeon's Daedeok District, followed by a second concert in 2025 on the outdoor lawn of Daejeon Institute of Science and Technology. This year's edition marked the third staging.
"A company's growth is not achieved by an entrepreneur alone, but only when family, colleagues and the local community stand behind it," said Yoon Jun-ho, chairman of the Korea Smart Innovation Entrepreneurs Association. "Our association will also develop beyond a simple gathering of business owners into a community that cheers on each other's challenges, shares experiences and values, and grows together with the local community."
Lee Jeong-hwa, president of Daejeon Health Institute of Technology, said: "A university is both a place of learning and an open space for communicating with the local community. I hope this gathering brings the university, businesses and the local community closer together and spreads a culture of sharing."
The main program featured leading Korean vocalists and singers in performances spanning classical music, popular songs and rock.
Following a performance by baritone Kim Dong-kyu, the ensemble His Classic — tenor Kim Hyun-ho, soprano Jang Eun-jin and pianist Jang Yu-jin — presented a set combining voice and piano. Soprano Jung Jin-ok took the stage along with Son Jin-wook, who rose to prominence through TV Chosun's "Tomorrow Is a National Singer"; Kang Sung-hee, vocalist of Sinchon Blues and a top-seven finisher on JTBC's "Sing Again 3"; Yoon Sung, who placed third on "Sing Again 2"; and Jung Hong-il, runner-up on the first season of "Sing Again." Each delivered a performance reflecting their own style and musical character.
A joint set by Kang, Yoon and Jung under the name Rock Three marked the climax of the concert, as the three vocalists, each with a distinct style and powerful voice, performed together on one stage.
The concert also made room for a session on sharing life stories.
Yoon Jun-ho, the association's chairman, introduced his recently published second book, "What Lifts a Life Back Up," to attendees and spoke about the themes he sought to convey through it: life, challenges and the strength to rise again.
The Korea Smart Innovation Entrepreneurs Association said it plans to expand its role as a community of innovative entrepreneurs connecting companies, people and the local community, through business exchanges and cooperation among members as well as cultural and social contribution programs open to families and local residents.
