In August, Great Place To Work published its 2026 ranking of the best workplaces in Latin America after surveying more than 2.4 million employees in over 30 countries. Two hundred organizations made the cut, with Hilton in first place and DHL right behind it. To be considered at all, each company first had to place on a national list somewhere between Mexico and Argentina.
The national results say even more about tech. For its July ranking of Mexican IT and telecom employers, Great Place To Work surveyed 12,937 people at 35 companies. Eighty-nine percent said they would recommend their employer, and 88% said they plan to stay for a long time, in an industry where engineers rarely lack other offers.
The regional ranking is a good place to start, though it leans toward multinationals with thousands of staff. Plenty of the region’s most rewarding employers are smaller engineering firms, startups, accelerators and research groups that hire a few dozen or a few hundred people at a time, often in Medellín, Guadalajara or Chihuahua rather than the capitals.
Colombia’s software exports passed $2 billion USD for the first time this year, as The Bogotá Post reported in October, and much of that work happens in nearshore offices that barely existed a decade ago. Several companies on this list opened their Latin American hubs only in the past two years.
For 2027 we have widened our list from 10 companies to 15. Seven are firms we have followed closely over the past year as they opened offices, launched products and kept hiring. Two more lead this year’s regional Great Place To Work survey, and the final six are tech employers whose cultures have picked up awards in 2026.
Ness Digital Engineering
Ness, the New York-headquartered engineering firm, opened its Mexico headquarters in October of 2025 in Puerta de Hierro, one of the busiest business districts in Zapopan, Guadalajara. The company said the move came after a number of strategic clients chose Ness as their long-term engineering base in Latin America, and it plans to relocate senior engineering leaders to the region.
For engineers in Jalisco, that means AI, data, Salesforce and QA work for global clients without leaving their own time zone, plus a seat in a network of more than 4,000 people across India, Europe and North America.
Ontop
Ontop was co-founded in 2020 by Colombian entrepreneurs Santiago Aparicio and Julián Torres to let companies hire and pay international talent without setting up local entities. Backed by Tiger Global, Point72 Ventures and SoftBank, it enables companies to onboard and pay global talent while helping remote workers to receive their payments in US dollars.
In March it partnered with BVNK to give contractors USD stablecoin accounts. People who join Ontop work on a product that decides how quickly a freelancer in Buenos Aires actually gets paid.
Source Meridian
Source Meridian was founded in Medellín in 2016 by a US healthcare software veteran who had worked with Colombian developers and wanted to build a company around them. It now has more than 200 engineers across offices in suburban Philadelphia, Medellín, Rionegro, and Quito, building big data, BI and machine learning applications for life sciences and healthcare clients.
Employees call themselves Rocketeers. Because so much of the work touches HIPAA and other compliance rules, developers here pick up regulated-industry experience that is hard to find elsewhere in the region.
Slalom
Seattle-based consultancy Slalom arrived in Mexico in 2024 with plans to hire more than 500 people, then opened offices in Bogotá and Medellín that December. Colombia now doubles as the Latin American hub for its Salesforce practice, while the Mexico team works out of Monterrey and Guadalajara.
Slalom has nearly 12,000 consultants in 10 countries and runs what it calls an Allshore model, which places Latin American engineers on the same teams as client-facing staff in the United States.
Orion Startups (Tec de Monterrey)
Orion Startups operates inside the Orion Technology Park on Tec de Monterrey’s Chihuahua campus, the only Tec campus with both an on-site accelerator and a technology park. It typically invests in startups and runs a five-month program aimed at companies selling into both the US and Latin America.
Firms incubated at the park have reported combined annual sales above $10 million. Working at Orion puts you at the center of northern Mexico’s startup scene, with direct access to Tec’s talent pool and a network of more than 200 specialists. Tec de Monterrey is considered by many to be the #1 university in Latin America.
C Minds
C Minds, based in Mexico City, calls itself an “action tank” rather than a think tank. Its team writes AI policy and ethics frameworks alongside governments and builds technology for conservation. In Yucatán, its Tech4Nature project used AI to identify 146 species in real time, 40 of them endangered, and developed an algorithm that recognizes individual jaguars by the rosettes on their coats.
With Future of Earth Lab, it co-leads IDB Lab’s NaturaTech LAC program, which backs biodiversity startups across the region. Founder Constanza Gómez Mont was named one of Mexico’s AI leaders by Forbes México in 2024. Few employers in the region let technologists apply machine learning to public policy and wildlife at the same desk.
Gorilla Logic
Gorilla Logic opened its first nearshore center in San José, Costa Rica, in 2014 and added Medellín in 2019, and it also hires in Mexico. Its consultants are known internally as The Band, since a group of gorillas is called a band.
Benefits have included private health insurance, extra vacation, days off that accumulate with each work anniversary and an annual training budget. In October the company named Steve Daly as chief technology officer as it pushes deeper into AI-native engineering.
Nubank
Nubank climbed from 12th to 11th on LinkedIn’s 2026 Top Companies list for Brazil, its fifth appearance. LinkedIn builds the ranking from its own data on eight measures, including career advancement, skills development, stability, gender diversity and how strongly employees identify with the company. Only firms with at least 5,000 employees worldwide and 500 in Brazil qualify.
The digital bank now serves 131 million clients across Brazil, Colombia and Mexico. Its chief people officer, Suzana Kubric, has described the goal as an environment where people can achieve the extraordinary through autonomy, continuous learning and real impact.
CONTPAQi
Guadalajara’s CONTPAQi has been writing accounting and administrative software since 1984, and 1.2 million Mexican companies use it through a network of more than 6,000 business partners. In July it topped Great Place To Work’s 2026 ranking of Mexican IT and telecom employers with up to 1,000 staff. By 2023 it had already been recognized by Great Place To Work in Mexico for 12 years and named a Best Place to Code for five.
The company invested 100 million pesos in its headquarters in Torre Interkone, which spans four floors and about 3,600 square meters. The office has a gym, a lactation room, a reading room, a recording studio and a slide connecting the eighth and ninth floors. Teams work a hybrid schedule and meet in person one day a week. The company even has a name for its wellbeing philosophy: happytalismo.
Cyberpuerta
Founded in 2008, Cyberpuerta sells computers and electronics online across Mexico and employs more than 300 people. It placed fourth on Great Place To Work’s 2026 ranking of Mexican IT and telecom employers.
A year earlier it finished first in the organization’s IT sector list, fourth nationally among companies with 50 to 500 staff, eighth among the best workplaces for women and 37th in Latin America. Its company values include “keep learning and challenging yourself” and “do the right thing.” Teams meet monthly to share what went well and what didn’t, and the company runs wellness, training and professional development programs.
Cisco
Cisco ranked sixth on Great Place To Work’s 2026 Latin America list, with national recognition in Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico and Peru. In Mexico it also placed third among IT and telecom employers with more than 1,000 staff and fourth in the country’s overall ranking.
Its teams in the region work across networking, cybersecurity and collaboration software, and the company has placed on Great Place To Work’s regional and global lists for years running.
SAP
SAP closed out the regional top 10, with national recognition in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Mexico. SAP México did especially well at home, taking first place among large IT and telecom employers and second in Mexico’s national ranking, where Great Place To Work recognized 290 organizations representing more than 600,000 employees.
Its Latin American teams sell and support the enterprise software behind finance, supply chain and HR systems at many of the region’s largest companies.
