Prince Harry has today insisted he wants to reconcile with his family, but appeared to take a swipe at Prince William by declaring: ‘Some people don’t want it to work out.’
The Duke of Sussex, who has not spoken to his brother for four years, admitted he is grieving his fractured relationships with William and his father.
Harry, who is on speaking terms with the King, said returning to the UK had brought the painful family rift back to the fore.
Insisting he wants reconciliation, he claimed 'there’s enough drama in the world.. to continue with issues with family.’
But he added: ‘Some people don’t want it to work out. I want it to work out. With everything else that’s going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile. That’s the key point.’
Asked whether he was grieving the split, he said: ‘Yes, of course. I think from a family perspective, again, another massively relatable issue for so many people, sibling disagreements, broken relationships between kids and their parents, kids and one parent.
‘That continues to come up with me the whole time with people that I speak to, so I know how relatable it is. People maybe look at us and go, “How are you gonna work it out? Maybe that will help me work my stuff out.”’
Harry said ‘scars stick around forever’, but urged people to change their mindset about past grievances and try to let them go.
He told GQ: ‘For me, there’s enough drama in the world and enough drama in people’s lives to continue with issues with family.’
