Karachi will receive another fleet of new double-decker and electric buses next month, officials informed a high-level meeting chaired by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.
The minister directed officials to complete the necessary arrangements for launching new routes to accommodate the incoming buses.
The meeting reviewed progress on ongoing transport projects, including construction work on the Yellow Line and Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems. Officials also discussed integrating BRT projects and finalizing routes for the new double-decker and electric buses.
The meeting was attended by Transport Secretary Asad Zamin, Trans Karachi CEO Zubair Channa, Yellow Line Project Director Kamal Dayo, Sindh Mass Transit Authority Managing Director Behzad Memon and other relevant officials.
Sharjeel said connecting different BRT lines would make it easier for citizens to reach their destinations. He emphasized that building BRT infrastructure alone was insufficient without establishing effective connections between the routes.
The minister stressed the importance of integrating transport services to improve connectivity and make public transportation more convenient for Karachi residents.
