Taxpayers with outstanding debts have until 31 October to settle the capital amount owed to the Namibia Revenue Agency (Namra) and qualify for the cancellation of interest and penalties under its tax amnesty programme.
With 18 days remaining before the deadline, Namra is urging taxpayers to use the programme to clear their outstanding tax obligations without having to pay accumulated interest and penalties.
To qualify, taxpayers must register as electronic filers on Namra’s integrated tax administration system, submit all outstanding tax returns and pay the full capital amount of their tax debt.
In a statement issued yesterday, Namra says interest and penalties charged on qualifying accounts will be automatically written off once the requirements have been met.
Taxpayers must also ensure that their declarations are complete and accurate and that their tax accounts are up to date.
