Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Banks in Uzbekistan are required to provide customers with contracts and information about financial services in the state language, Uzbek. Customers can report violations to the Central Bank through the Telegram bot @tajriba_lab_bot if a bank refuses to provide documents in Uzbek or offers to conclude a contract exclusively in another language.
Under paragraphs 3 and 7 of Regulation No. 3030, banks must draw up contracts and provide information about financial services in the state language. Contracts may also be prepared in another language if both parties agree.
The requirement applies to a range of banking services, including loans and deposit accounts. Customers must be able to review contractual terms and obtain the information they need in Uzbek.
Customers who believe a bank has violated these requirements can submit a report through the Telegram bot @tajriba_lab_bot. They are advised to identify the bank, describe the service or contract concerned and briefly explain the circumstances of the alleged violation. Supporting documents and other relevant materials may also be attached, if available.
The Central Bank will review the submitted information and take action within its authority if violations of the law are identified.
The requirement is intended to ensure that consumers of banking services can access contract terms and information about financial products in the country's state language.
