It may be bread week in the GBBO tent, but the outfits were far from stale. From Noel's blue Bella Freud jumper to Nigella's tartan pink blazer, the judges certainly rose to the occasion this week.
However, it was Alison Hammond's starry dress that won this week's star baker in our eyes.
We worked quickly to source the actual piece, but the Never Fully Dressed Star Deer Aria Mesh Dress virtually sold out in front of our eyes (approximately 30 minutes into the episode). However, all is not lost as you can still shop the same dress, which has lovely fluted arms and goes up to a size 28, in a whole range of different patterns. Six to be exact.
Never Fully Dressed is known for its bold, colourful abstract patterned dresses, most of which come in a range of different styles and colourways, and this silhouette is a staple in the collection. The slightly flared sleeves add an extra bit of drama, as well as coverage over the slip underneath, making it the dream daytime dress. Pair it with a faux-fur jacket and we can see it being perfectly viable during winter nights, too.
It can easily be dressed-up or down – just add kitten heels and a blazer for dressier days, or style with ballet pumps for more casual occasions. This is a versatile piece you can wear anywhere, including the tent amid stressful technicals. We love that the mesh layer adds a little extra ruching in all the right places too, just in case your stomach isn't feeling ‘flatbread flat’.
Though we loved Alison's starry style, there are plenty of alternative prints to catch the eye – we've included a few of our other favourite options below, some of which are also available on M&S.
