Boston manager Paul Hurst has said he would "never walk away" from his job, despite going through a difficult period at the club.
The Pilgrims have won just three of their opening 13 matches in the National League, and sit inside the relegation places in 21st.
Hurst spoke strongly after their FA Cup exit to fellow fifth tier strugglers Scunthorpe United last week, saying: "I'm not good enough, the players aren't good enough."
However, the 52-year-old told BBC Radio Lincolnshire he has no plans to quit.
"I wouldn't be sat here doing an interview If I did," he said. "I'd have a conversation with the chairman. I'm never going to walk away from a job, that's not in my nature.
"In a slightly sick way, I enjoy a challenge. My life, career - and I don't mean a big sob story at all - is built on showing resilience, fight, determination and attitude to try and prove people wrong.
"That's always been a driving force, that's not going to change. Do I get really frustrated at times? Absolutely, I'm human. But I came back to this football club for the people, and because its full-time."
Hurst spent 22 months in joint charge of Boston between 2009 and 2011, leading them up into the National League North before leaving to join National League Grimsby.
He returned in January 2026 with Boston 17th in the table, four places and three points above the relegation places, and led them to a 12th-placed finish.
Hurst said he is determined to stay on and improve the club: "Ultimately, when I do leave this club it would be fantastic if it was on my terms, we all know often that's not the case.
"It would be trying to leave this club in a better place and I think some of that is happening, but unfortunately the league table and the results aren't really showing that at the moment.
"People will need to put trust and belief in what I'm saying. They're not in here every day seeing the improvements, and you have to improve to keep up with the other teams in the league.
"I will always give my all for this football club. It's great if you can win with skill, but if you can't you win with will. I thought against Southend we got quite a bit of that".
