It seems like the New York Jets couldn’t find their best offensive player against the Patriots, but Aaron Glenn pointed to the team’s inability to finish as the difference. Also, Glenn claimed he didn’t actually make a dumb mistake during a halftime interview.
To set the stage, here’s what Glenn said at halftime, according to a post on X by Ari Meirov.

So did Glenn deny what he plainly said?
Jets HC Aaron offers explanation
Here’s how Glenn defended what he said, according to the New York Post.
“No, I actually talked about just the offense,” Glenn said. “I think they were talking about sustaining drives, and my conversation with them is when the offense gets the ball back, man, we want to be able to sustain a drive and go score.
“Then when the defense gets back on, we want to make sure we stop them and get the ball back to our offense. That’s what I was talking about when it comes to that. The conversation was talking about the offense at that time.”
Glenn hasn’t done much to endear himself to Jets fans. He had a two-year mark of 5-18. Things have been a little better so far in 2026, but it’s hard to see them as leaps and bounds better than the 2025 squad.
As for the offensive struggles, Glenn backed his offensive coordinator, Frank Reich, according to ESPN.
“I think he’s done a good job, I really do,” Glenn said. “Obviously, there are a number of things that we can improve on … from short-yardage and the two-minute.
“But that also goes on me also when it comes to the defensive side, me and [coordinator Brian] Duker on some things that we have to get better at, too.”
Glenn said Reich needs more time to be evaluated.
“After six games, it’s hard to just say, ‘OK, we’re this,'” Glenn said. “But I would say I think [Reich has] done a good job. Obviously, Geno has done some good things, and you have to give a lot of credit to Frank [and the quarterback coaches], plus Geno himself.”
