Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has announced a partnership with a Chinese technology firm to deploy modern security and surveillance systems across the state.
Adeleke disclosed this in a statement via his social media handle on Tuesday, October 20, saying the initiative was aimed at strengthening security and protecting lives and property.
The governor said he had initiated a statewide security project in partnership with Hefei Shengwen Information Technology Company Limited.
According to him, the proposed system will deploy drones, radar systems, artificial intelligence-enabled cameras, robotics and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, integrated into a central Command and Control Centre for real-time monitoring across the state.
Adeleke said this during a meeting with a delegation from the Chinese firm led by its Director of International Operations, Cai Jianfei, where both sides discussed plans for the deployment of the technologies.

Explaining the rationale behind the partnership, Adeleke said, “I have initiated a comprehensive statewide security and surveillance project in partnership with a Chinese firm, Hefei Shengwen Information Technology Company Limited to strengthen security and protect lives and property across Osun State.”
The governor added that the initiative builds on the establishment of the Osun State Security Trust Fund, describing it as part of his administration’s efforts to improve the state’s security architecture through modern technology.
“Building on our establishment of the Osun State Security Trust Fund, this initiative reflects our commitment to leveraging modern technology to strengthen our security architecture and ensure the safety of our people and businesses,” he said.
Adeleke said the ultimate objective was to develop a security system that would cover communities across the state.
“Our goal is to build an inclusive security system that protects every community and makes Osun State safer for all,” the governor stated.’
