Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has arrived at the Kaduna State High Court for the continuation of proceedings in his alleged fraud case.
Footage shared on X showed the former governor exchanging pleasantries with African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, Isa Kudan, before entering the courtroom as proceedings resumed on Tuesday.
The court appearance comes amid ongoing legal proceedings involving El-Rufai, including his reported unsuccessful attempts to secure bail in the Kaduna State case.
A separate controversy has also emerged over a medical report reportedly submitted in support of his request for release from detention.
The development also follows the Court of Appeal’s dismissal of his latest bail challenge, leaving the lower court’s decision refusing to release him in place.
Justice Darius Khobo fixed the next hearing for noon and directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, which has custody of the former governor, to produce him in court for the continuation of proceedings.
El-Rufai is being tried for alleged corruption, financial fraud, abuse of office, and money laundering by the ICPC.
