BRAC Healthcare has opened a centre in Noakhali, its fifth nationwide and first outside Dhaka, expanding access to its range of affordable healthcare services.
Tamara Hasan Abed, managing director of BRAC Enterprises, inaugurated the centre at House 523, New Bus Stand, Main Road, Maijdee Court today (15 October), according to the press release.
Mohammad Anisur Rahman, senior director of BRAC Enterprises and managing director of BRAC Healthcare Limited, and Dr Taufiqul Hasan Siddiquee, head of health enterprises at BRAC Healthcare Limited, attended the inauguration.
The Noakhali centre offers family medicine, first aid, specialist consultations, health and wellness services, nutrition, physiotherapy, mental health counselling, dental care and diagnostic services under one roof.
The centre is open to everyone, with the organisation aiming to provide affordable healthcare in a welcoming and caring environment.
Speaking at the inauguration, Tamara Hasan Abed said, "Healthcare must be accessible, affordable and compassionate for everyone. It was this belief that led to the launch of BRAC Healthcare in 2023. For us, this is not simply the opening of a new centre; it marks the beginning of a new chapter. Over the past three years, we have developed and continuously refined our model of care. Today, we begin the journey of extending this model to people beyond Dhaka."
"Our goal is to build a trusted healthcare network that brings ethical, affordable and compassionate healthcare closer to the people of Bangladesh. As we move forward, we want to reach new cities, listen to people's needs and deliver the standard of healthcare they deserve and are entitled to," she added.
Mohammad Anisur Rahman said, "At BRAC Healthcare, we do more than provide medical care. We strive to deliver every service with genuine care and respect. The patient's wellbeing remains at the heart of everything we do. We remain committed to standing beside people with compassion, delivering patient-centred care and fostering a culture of empathy and respect at every step."
The centre also has a modern model pharmacy offering medicines at fair prices. BRAC Healthcare additionally provides telemedicine services, home sample collection and affordable home delivery of essential medicines.
BRAC Healthcare began operating in Mirpur, Dhaka, in 2023, with a commitment to supporting patients and their families with compassion and empathy. It subsequently opened three more branches in Uttara, Siddheswari and Badda.
The organisation said it had served more than 450,000 patients across its existing centres in just over three years, including over 98,000 doctor consultations. It reported patient satisfaction of more than 91%.
Patients can book appointments with specialist doctors through the BRAC Healthcare mobile app, which also allows users to track their medical history and access other essential healthcare services.
