XRP Ledger bug fix delayed to November after validator support dip

The XRP Ledger’s planned bug fix, known as fixCleanup3_4_0, has been rescheduled for November following a temporary dip in validator support. The amendment, which targets a token-minting loophole and other calculation issues, saw validator backing drop from the required 29 out of 35 to just 26 for a brief period. This interruption reset the mandatory 14-day approval window, despite support later recovering to 31 validators. The delay has introduced uncertainty in the market, with participants now focusing on the new activation date of November 4.

Key Takeaways

• The temporary drop in validator support for the XRP Ledger bug fix appears to have caused the rescheduling to November, which may indicate potential concerns over the amendment’s rollout.
• Market pricing suggests a decrease in confidence that XRP will reach $4.00 in October, with odds remaining at a low 0.3% YES.
• The market appears to interpret the delay as consistent with scenarios where XRP struggles to gain the necessary momentum to achieve higher price targets this month.

What to Watch

Market participants will be closely monitoring the XRP Ledger’s validator support as the new November activation date approaches. Any further delays or issues with validator consensus could amplify uncertainties around XRP’s price trajectory. Developments regarding the U.S. SEC’s stance on XRP, particularly any regulatory clarity, could also influence market sentiment and pricing outcomes for XRP reaching specific targets in the near term.
