Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) is making artificial intelligence a core management agenda and setting up a dedicated organization to drive the shift. The state-run developer held a ceremony declaring its "LH AI Transformation" on the 15th at its Seoul regional headquarters, attended by President Lee Sung-hoon and senior division heads. LH said the event was arranged to share its commitment to using AI to change how it works and how it serves the public, and to mark the start of company-wide AI-driven management innovation.
Lee presented the AI transformation as the corporation's core management agenda and formally launched an operating system under which the chief executive directly promotes and reviews the implementation of AX, or AI transformation.
In his first CEO message on AX, Lee announced implementation plans including the creation of a dedicated unit, the AI Innovation Office. The declaration contained three pledges: pursuing the AI transformation as LH's core management agenda, having the CEO directly support and promote the transformation, and building an operating system that links AI implementation to company-wide management results. Based on this, LH plans to extend its use of AI beyond individual projects or the adoption of specific technologies, tying it to management outcomes such as faster housing supply and better housing services for the public.
LH has already applied AI to key operations including construction site safety management, housing defect management and care services for residents. At construction sites, it links an AI video analysis system called Neulbom A-Eye with RICS, a real-time integrated construction information system, to carry out "pinpoint safety management" that screens and monitors 20 high-risk sites each day. Through AI-based BIM earthwork design automation software, LH expects to cut earthwork haulage volumes by about 7%.
After introducing a one-stop defect management system in which AI automatically classifies and registers defects, the time taken to handle a defect fell 31% to 12.5 days from 18 days. The system was selected in 2025 as an outstanding case of AI innovation by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Korean Association for Public Enterprise. The number of people receiving AI care calls — a service offering conversation and health checks to older adults living alone and others, run on Clova CareCall — rose to 9,400 this year from 1,200 last year.
Internally, LH has completed an AI work knowledge system that allows some 300,000 internal rules and guidelines to be searched in natural language. The company expects the system to save 10,833 working hours a year.
"The AI transformation is a change of the times that will determine LH's competitiveness going forward, so we will actively support and promote it on the back of today's ceremony," Lee said. "Together with all our members, we will accelerate innovation in the public's housing through AI and produce management results that the public can feel."
