"They win fairly. They are more dangerous and create more chances than us. We have to do more things right; it's not harder than that," Mjällby's Jacob Bergström tells TV4.
Mjällby had the ball in the net after a corner in the second half, but the goal was disallowed - prompting major protests from Mjällby.
"It didn't feel like a free kick. We don't get anything like that for free right now," Bergström says.
The last time Mjällby won in the Allsvenskan was on August 15, when they beat league leaders Sirius 4-3. Since then, last year's sensational champions have gone eight straight Allsvenskan matches without a win.
Kalmar are four points clear of the relegation play-off spot, while Degerfors are three points behind them in the table. Kalmar and Degerfors meet on Monday evening.
Mjällby's situation in the autumn of 2026 could then look even worse.
However, things are looking brighter for Västerås. The team are sixth and have a chance of finishing fourth, which could ultimately lead to a place in European competition next year.
