Tecno has expanded its Spark 50 lineup with two new smartphones: the Spark 50s and Spark 50C.
The Spark 50s joins the existing Spark 50 4G, Spark 50 5G, and Spark 50 Pro, while the Spark 50C was unveiled as a surprise addition to the series.
One of the standout features on these devices is FreeLink 2.0, which allows calls and text messages without a network connection within a distance of up to 1.5km. It is a peer-to-peer, off-grid communication technology built into select TECNO smartphones only.
Design and Display
Both phones feature 6.78-inch HD+ LCDs with 120Hz refresh rates.
The Spark 50s has a centered punch-hole for its selfie camera and carries an IP64 Pro rating along with MIL-STD-810H certification. It comes in Breeze Blue and Burgundy Red.
The Spark 50C can be operated even with wet or oily hands. It has stronger IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings and is offered in Burgundy Red, Forge Orange, Basalt Titanium, and Eclipse Black.
Internals and Software
The Spark 50s is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset and runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16.
It comes with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A dedicated microSD card slot allows storage expansion by up to 2TB.
Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, all-scenario noise cancellation, and No Network Communication, which allows users to make calls and send messages without cellular coverage or Wi-Fi within a range of up to 1.5km.
The Spark 50C is a 4G smartphone powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 chipset. It has 4GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, and runs Android 16.
It also includes dual stereo speakers, AI call noise cancellation, and an IR blaster.
Cameras
The Spark 50s has a single 50MP primary camera on the back alongside an LED flash.
An 8MP camera handles selfies and video calls.
The Spark 50C uses a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera.
Battery and Pricing
The Spark 50s packs a 6,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging. It also supports reverse wired charging and bypass charging.
The 6GB + 128GB model is priced at approximately $211, while the 8GB + 128GB variant costs around $242.
The Spark 50C has a 5,200mAh battery with 15W fast charging.
Tecno will offer it in 4GB + 64GB, 4GB + 128GB, and 4GB + 256GB configurations. The company has not yet announced pricing or availability details for the Spark 50C.
