Rural women deserve hand-holding for a brighter future, says Andhra Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has called for investing in rural women’s skills, enterprises and leadership, and expanding access to finance and markets, and working together to build an inclusive future in which every rural woman has the opportunity to prosper.

In a social media post on the occasion of the International Day of Rural Women on October 15 (Thursday), Mr. Pawan Kalyan stated that rural women deserved a salute for their courage, resilience and enterprising nature, which were strengthening the farms, sustaining families and driving the villages forward.

They should be given sustained opportunities, economic independence and dignity in recognition of their valuable contributions, he observed.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan said initiatives of the Central government such as the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission and Lakhpati Didi were creating pathways for rural women to build sustainable livelihoods and increase their incomes. The VB-G RAM G further strengthened the framework for rural employment and durable village assets, he added.

The Deputy Chief Minister said the coalition government was committed to creating meaningful opportunities for rural women through Self-Help Groups (SHGs), livelihood generation, entrepreneurship and stronger village infrastructure, and it was duly focused on enabling every rural woman to turn her skills and hard work into lasting prosperity.
