Sky Germany (via @iMiaSanMia) is reporting that Kompany collapsed at training;
Vincent Kompany collapsed after today’s training session. The coach was immediately taken to a hospital by ambulance. A rescue helicopter had landed at the training ground earlier.
Kompany had been battling a severe illness (reported to be a viral infection) and a hip issue ahead of Bayern Munich’s Champions League game against Arsenal, but he was cleared to return to the bench. Bayern Munich is now preparing for Sunday’s Bundesliga clash against SC Freiburg following Wednesday’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the Champions League.
The most important thing is Kompany’s health and well-being. Understandably, Bayern Munich supporters are hoping that the situation is not serious and that the 40-year-old coach is receiving the care he needs.
There is no confirmed information yet regarding the reason for his hospitalization or whether it will affect his availability for Sunday’s match. Further updates are expected as more details emerge.
