Florida football's starting running back Jadan Baugh was named an AP Midseason All-American on Thursday after a strong start to the 2026 campaign.
Baugh wrapped up Week 6 as the FBS leader in rushing and total touchdowns with 12, and total points scored with 72. The third-year back has rushed for 672 yards on 110 carries, averaging 6.1 yards per carry for 112.0 yards per game, with an additional seven receptions for 46 yards this season for a total of 718 scrimmage yards.
The Atlanta, Georgia, native is the only FBS running back with both 10-plus rushing touchdowns and over 600 rushing yards, and the only FBS running back to rush for multiple touchdowns in four different games. Baugh also paces the SEC and sits top-six in the FBS in PFF's rushing grade (89.8), breakaway percentage (50.6), offensive grade among running backs (87.0), HandsFumble (88.3), first downs (34) and missed tackles forced (36).
Entering Week 7, Baugh has recorded 518 consecutive touches and 459 straight rushes without a fumble.
As Florida's first returning 1,000-yard rusher since 1992, Baugh is on pace for 1,456 rush yards and 26 rushing touchdowns in a 13-game season — the latter of which would break Tim Tebow's school record (23) by three and fall just shy of Derrick Henry's 2015 SEC record set in 15 games (28). He must eclipse the 1,600-yard mark to break Florida's single-season rushing record set by Emmitt Smith in 1989 (1,599).
Through six games, Baugh owns two more rushing touchdowns than any of the last three Heisman Trophy-winning running backs (Derrick Henry, Mark Ingram, Reggie Bush) and more rushing yards than Ingram or Henry.
