The European Democratic Party has called on Europe to support a new generation of young people in Serbia seeking political change, saying their mobilization offers hope for democracy and freedom.

In a statement on X, the party said students and young people had spent months protesting against corruption, intimidation and what it described as democracy emptied of meaning.
The party said President Aleksandar Vucic's political system might appear powerful, but argued that no system lasts forever when a new generation stops being afraid and begins demanding change. It urged Europe to stand alongside the students and help sustain their hopes for a different future.
The European Democrats also said they would continue drawing international attention to concerns about electoral irregularities, political intimidation, restrictions on independent media and obstacles to democratic participation in Serbia. The statement comes nine days before Serbia's October 25 parliamentary election, amid continuing student-led protests and growing political tensions.
