The session brought motorbike and vehicle driver partners face-to-face with county transport officials, NTSA representatives and emergency response provider RESCUE.CO, creating a direct forum for dialogue between drivers and the authorities overseeing the city's transport system.
NTSA used the occasion to walk drivers through critical road safety obligations, drawing attention to high-risk behaviours such as speeding, distracted driving, unsafe lane-splitting and fatigue.

Participating drivers took a formal pledge to observe traffic regulations and commit to safer conduct on Nairobi's roads.
The Nairobi City County Mobility Department complemented NTSA's input by outlining county transport by-laws, parking regulations and traffic management requirements, giving drivers clearer guidance on the rules governing their day-to-day operations within the capital.
Technology and emergency preparedness also featured heavily. RESCUE.CO demonstrated how drivers should respond when emergencies arise, covering when to activate the service and how such situations are managed on the ground.
Bolt's own in-app safety features, including Emergency Assist, Trip Sharing, Trusted Contacts, Unsafe Area Alerts and Trip Anomaly Detection, were also explained, alongside guidance on accurate incident reporting to support Bolt's Safety team.
Benjamin Sulle, Public Policy Manager at Bolt Kenya, said the engagement reflects what is needed to drive meaningful change in urban mobility.
"Safer roads and a well-regulated ride-hailing sector require more than technology alone. They require continued collaboration between platforms, drivers and the authorities responsible for managing our transport systems. Through engagements such as this, we are able to bring these stakeholders together, strengthen understanding of existing requirements and identify practical ways to improve safety and compliance across the sector."
Bolt said it will continue engaging transport authorities, driver partners and other relevant stakeholders on safety education and regulatory awareness as part of its broader effort to support responsible ride-hailing operations across Nairobi.
