Rhode‘s internet-breaking Lip Case is in for some friendly competition, as Dior just launched its own, premium take: the Holiday Gift 2026 Edition Médaillon Lip Balm, which has sold out in hours directly on the fashion house’s site but remains in stock at nordstrom.com (where hundreds of shoppers have purchased it in the last few hours).

“This is Gen Z marketing at its finest,” Anne-Liese Prem, head of cultural insights and trends at digital brand-building agency Loop, says on LinkedIn, “turning beauty objects into phone accessories, everyday objects into status symbols, and your iPhone into a beauty billboard.”
Influencers, naturally, got there first, but now beauty lovers around the world also want a piece of the pie — vying to get their hands on this little luxury, which allows you to apply Dior’s popular, hydrating, long-wear lip balm on the go while treating the device you can’t live without to a touch of vintage-inspired glamour.
The Médaillon‘s ornate, gilded case is topped by a coquettish bow and decorated with a frame-like border, lending it a “Regency Romance” aesthetic — the same one that walked the runway as part of Jonathan Anderson’s men’s spring/summer 2026 collection and continues to drive Dior’s visual language to this day.
We like that the Crystal Pink balm shade inside is universally flattering, boasting a glittery, perfect-for-the-holidays finish. The product can be easily applied with just your fingers or a makeup brush intended for lips, if you have the time.
Content creators started calling it the “Porsche of lip balms,” pointing out that it currently has the beauty world “in a chokehold,” due in no small part to the release’s darling, mirror-like appearance and the fact that you can repurpose it as a Dior locket by threading a gold chain through said bow.
Want the worlds of high-end makeup and tech to collide in your life? Dior suggests taking the following steps:
1. Peel off the backing from the adhesive.
2. Align the medallion with the template and press it onto the adhesive.
3. Lift the medallion off and peel away the remaining backing from the back.
Afterwards, simply stick the final product on the back of your phone and watch as it transforms into a veritable objet d’art.
Smooth, nourishing, and sensitive skin–friendly, the sparkly balm is infused with moisturizing ingredients like jojoba seed oil, sweet almond oil, beeswax, and rice bran wax. It’s safe to say the Holiday Gift 2026 Edition Médaillon Lip Balm also smells dreamy, making it a sensorial treat to the highest degree that results in “high-shine frosted lips,” as Dior puts it.
If it happens to run out of inventory at Nordstrom, the viral arrival is still shoppable at Ulta and Dillard’s.
