The Seattle Seahawks had some good news for the offensive side of the ball on Thursday, activating running back Zach Charbonnet from the PUP list, a good sign that he's close to returning for a game after suffering a torn left ACL in the playoffs last year.
But the Seahawks have a bad update on tight end Elijah Arroyo, who was placed on injured reserve after he suffered a shoulder injury in Seattle's 17-14 loss to the Denver Broncos in overtime of their Week 6 contest on "Thursday Night Football."
Earlier in the week, Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said he wasn't sure how long Arroyo would miss, but that it would be "a significant amount of time."

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Arroyo is set to have shoulder surgery and his season is over.
"Source: Seahawks TE Elijah Arroyo is undergoing shoulder surgery today and will miss the rest of the season," Schefter posted on X.
Arroyo, a second-round pick in the 2025 draft, has one reception for 17 yards this season. He caught 15 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown in his rookie campaign.
With Arroyo out, the Seahawks still have tight ends AJ Barner, Eric Saubert, and Nick Kallerup on the 53-man roster.
The 3-3 Seahawks are set to face the 5-0 Kansas City Chiefs, who are coming off a bye in Week 6. Macdonald noted that while Charbonnet was set to have a full week of practice, it was unclear how much he would play against Kansas City. Charbonnet has made quick progress in a bid to help the shorthanded Seahawks.
"It's remarkable," Macdonald said, via the Seahawks' website. "I know he's had a certain date in mind, which is a really ambitious date. Those who have tried to come back from a significant knee surgery understand the undertaking that it takes. Zach's a beast. He looks great.
"It's not easy to say, 'All right, let's go.' So for him to have that courage to say that and work through the things he's worked through, you can't do anything but tip your cap to him."
With rookie running back Jadarian Price on injured reserve with a chest injury, Charbonnet would be a huge addition for the Seahawks.
