Microsoft’s Next Xbox, Project Helix, May Cost Up To USD 1,800
২২/১০/২০২৬
Project Helix: Microsoft’s next-generation console is reportedly codenamed Project Helix. A Fortune report says its internal price projection is USD 1,200 to USD 1,800, though Microsoft has not confirmed any retail price.
Projected price range
The USD 1,200 to USD 1,800 figure is reportedly an internal estimate for what Helix could cost consumers if Microsoft does not subsidise the hardware. It is not an announced or final MSRP.
Why it may be costly
Rising memory costs and expensive next-generation components are cited as factors behind the projection. The estimate suggests Microsoft may face difficult decisions between premium pricing and hardware subsidies.
Possible 2028 launch
The main under-the-TV Helix console is reportedly targeted for holiday 2028. That timing remains unofficial, and Microsoft could change development plans, release windows, or pricing before launch.
Handheld may arrive first
Project Helix is described as a family of devices, including a handheld. Reports say the portable version could launch first, with a target of holiday 2027, ahead of the main console.
Big jump from Series X
A USD 1,800 price would be far above the current Xbox Series X, which starts at USD 749.99, and the Series S at USD 499.99. Even the lower USD 1,200 estimate would represent a major increase.
Subsidy could lower cost
Microsoft could choose to subsidise Helix, accepting a smaller margin or loss on hardware to make the console more competitive. The report indicates the projected range applies only if that subsidy does not happen.
