A Kaduna Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday ordered a 22-year-old Point of Sale (POS) operator, Janet Vincent, to sweep the court premises for 40 days after she pleaded guilty to stealing N250,000.
The Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, handed down the sentence, saying it would serve as a deterrent to others, warning Vincent against committing any criminal offence after completing her punishment.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Inspector Leo Chidi, told the court that Vincent committed the offence on October 5 at Ungwan Maigero Karji, Kaduna.
Chidi said the convict stole the N250,000 given to her by her employer for POS transactions, saying the offence contravened the Kaduna State Penal Code, 2017.
