Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of 515 new Kosovo Security Force (KSF) recruits, Kurti said the military budget had tripled during his previous term.
"We have recruited 3,220 new soldiers, more than doubling the size of our forces. With another generation beginning training this year, we will reach the military capacity originally planned for 2028, two years ahead of schedule," Kurti said.
He also announced that ammunition production would begin at a new factory under construction in Gjakova by the end of 2026.
"The factory will be 100 percent domestically owned. We are also supporting private companies interested in producing military equipment," Kurti added.
According to the latest figures cited in the report, the KSF currently has approximately 5,000 members.
