Stephen A. Smith was brutal with his critique toward Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns following recent struggles this season.

Manning is going through the fourth season of his collegiate career with the Longhorns. This marks his second year as a full-time starter, trying to get Texas to the College Football Playoff.

However, Texas has gone through stunning struggles. They suffered back-to-back collapses against Oklahoma and Florida, free falling from No. 1 in the AP Top 25 down to No. 19.

Smith talked about the squad’s struggles during his Monday appearance on his personal show. He believes that Manning isn’t ready for the primetime lights of the NFL and stated that head coach Steve Sarkisian is having a difficult time coaching the quarterback.

“Arch Manning and Texas has lost their last two weeks of the row. Arch Manning doesn’t look very good at all, looking like he needs to stay in school for next season. Steve Sarkisian, a guest on this show just a couple of weeks ago, ain’t handling business as the head coach because, in my personal opinion, I think he’s got two jobs: coaching the Texas Longhorns and coaching Arch Manning, and it’s tough for him to do that because that last name on his jersey and the pressure that comes with having to coach a Manning,” Smith said.
