Samsung’s One UI 9 update is now available for the Galaxy S24 and Z Fold/Flip 6, a month after the official rollout was initiated.
Samsung announced that One UI 9 is officially rolling out to devices that didn’t launch with it preloaded – i.e., the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra.
That means the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are the next to get Android 17 (via SamMobile). Of course, the rollout includes all three Galaxy S24 models. The update should appear in the settings app on those devices as a standard download.
For the time being, the update appears to be available in South Korea and the US, though it’s expected that more regions will follow within the next few days.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 were the first to get One UI 9 because Samsung switched up its update schedule a year ago. A month ago, the Galaxy S26 was given access to the new One UI 9, based on Android 17.
The update has been trickling down Samsung’s Galaxy S lineups ever since. Since the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 are just getting One UI 9, it’s expected that the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 aren’t far behind. Samsung has not updated those devices just yet.
One UI 9 includes a few notable changes, including:
- My FanCam: Automatic video tracking & reframing of a subject
- Generative and Editable Cards on Now Brief
- Warranty and Care details in Settings menu
- More Galaxy AI features: Now Nudge, Creative Studio, Interpreter, Document Scan, Voice Recorder
- Privacy & security features: Security Brief, Privacy Alerts, Scam Detection
If the update isn’t ready for you yet, it should be very soon. For those on older devices, it may take a few more weeks.
