On Monday, Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese made history twice, becoming the youngest player in WNBA history to notch at least 30 points and 15 rebounds in a postseason game, leading her team to a franchise-first Finals victory.
She does things with style, both on and off the court. While playing at Louisiana State University, Reese earned the nickname “Bayou Barbie,” thanks to her game-day beauty choices, often including long lashes and flashy manicures. Her penchant for fashion and beauty is well-documented, including in these pages. Back in 2024, the star made headlines by announcing her intentions to enter the WNBA draft in Vogue, saying, “I didn’t want anything to be basic,” of the decision to break the news not with a boring press release but, instead, a glamorous fashion shoot. (Tennis legend Serena Williams, who announced her retirement in the magazine in 2022, was part of Reese’s inspiration for the move.)
“It’s always been both: basketball and fashion,” Reese told Vogue in 2025. “I was always in my mom’s closet, putting on her stuff. I liked to carry a purse. Hair done. I wanted to look put together. I still do.”
The WNBA Finals series is tied 1-1, and tonight, back in Atlanta, Reese and the Dream will try to cinch the lead. Ahead of the game, as Reese looks to get one step closer to her championship dreams, we look back at her appearances in Vogue.
