Congress leader Sonia Gandhi made her Instagram debut today (22 October), sharing a first look at her upcoming book, "Belonging: A Journey of Love".
In her debut post, Sonia described the book as a "story of love, duty, loss and finding a place to belong", expressing gratitude for the opportunity to share it with her audience.
"Hello everyone, I'm truly grateful to share this moment with you all; the first look at Belonging: A Journey of Love," Sonia wrote in her first post. "It is a story of love, duty, loss and finding a place to belong. I look forward to sharing it with you."
Sonia has largely kept her distance from social media over the years, using the Congress' X account to share video statements, messages and letters intended for public release.
After joining Instagram, she followed the accounts of her son Rahul Gandhi, daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and the Congress party.
Indian politicians, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, use Instagram to share political messages and updates on their public engagements and personal lives.
