Pioneers ICT Nigeria Limited has launched a free digital marketing training programme for women entrepreneurs in Kano.
It said the training was aimed at equipping them with the skills needed to promote their businesses, reach wider markets and improve their competitiveness.
Blueprint reports that the initiative, known as HER TRIBE, focuses on practical digital skills, including social media marketing, content creation, effective communication and the use of technology to expand business opportunities.
Speaking on the programme, the Chief Executive Officer of Pioneers ICT, Hassan Umar Dankura, said the initiative was designed to help women improve their knowledge, make better use of available resources and grow their businesses.
He explained that participants would receive hands-on training to enable them to market their products and services more effectively, attract customers and build stronger business relationships.
According to Dankura, the programme began with 25 participants selected from more than 160 applicants, adding that the decision to start with a small group was intended to ensure effective learning and measurable results.
He said the selection process was carefully conducted to identify applicants who were committed to applying the skills they would acquire to improve their businesses.
“Our aim is to upgrade their thinking, the resources they use, and ultimately their businesses,” Dankura said, stressing that the programme was focused on creating meaningful impact in the lives of participants.
Also speaking on efforts to expand digital opportunities for women in Northern Nigeria, the founder and Senior Vision Director of Sustainable Innovation and Development Solutions (SIDS), Dr Musa Abdullahi Sufi, highlighted the importance of technology in promoting entrepreneurship and economic development.
Sufi said the initiative would expose participants to modern technological tools, including artificial intelligence, to help them improve their business operations, increase productivity and reach more customers.
He noted that equipping women with digital skills could help them become self-reliant, create employment opportunities for others and contribute to reducing poverty.
According to him, the benefits of empowering women entrepreneurs extend beyond individual businesses, as improved earnings and economic participation can also strengthen families and communities.
Sufi described the programme as an opportunity to help young women use technology to improve their livelihoods and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
