Chris Brown is back in legal hot water, and this time his former housekeeper is pushing for him to be put in handcuffs.
Maria Avila, who previously worked at Brown's Los Angeles mansion, has asked a court to issue an arrest warrant against the R&B star. According to court documents obtained by TMZ on Monday, 12 October 2026, her frustration stems from Brown's alleged failure to commit to scheduled dates that would allow her legal team to examine his finances.
The $9 million dog bite battle
Maria's legal saga began in 2020, when she claimed she was attacked by a dog on Brown's property while taking out the trash. She was initially awarded $13 million following a jury trial, but a judge later reduced the judgment to $9 million, which Maria accepted.
The problem, according to her court filing, is that Brown has not made the collection process straightforward. Maria argued that the financial information he handed over was incomplete and raised serious doubts about "the accuracy and completeness of [Chris'] disclosure with respect to payment sources associated with his ongoing tour." With Brown on tour and generating income, she wants full visibility into where the money is going.

@4AngelKing quipped:
"She wants him arrested for not cooperating with her on arranging a payment plan for her money lmao. Maybe Christopher can contact Tasha K for advice on payment plan options."

"She's probably still suffering 🤷🏽♀️ I don't blame her."
@MayorOfEdoState added:
"Lol. Wasn't she getting like 10M or something?"
