With cosy season on the horizon, I’ve spent the last week digging out my comfy lounging essentials. Typically, I reach straight for my Oodie hooded blanket, as it’s perfect for staying warm when I’m moving around the house.
Wearable blankets aren’t for everyone, though. They trap heat in almost too well and are hard to get off in a hurry (key for anyone struggling with hot flushes). You can also give the delivery person a bit of a shock, although I’m sure they’ve seen worse.
That’s where Oodie’s Sherpa Dressing Gown comes in. It’s the Goldilocks answer to cosy season, with its thick, incredibly soft fabric and oversized fit, plus a belt that’s easy to untie if you’re feeling too warm.
After trying this dressing gown, I’m convinced you won’t see me in anything else until March. Nothing can compete with this level of softness… Plus, you can get 30% off until Monday 19 October, making it the perfect time to treat yourself to a luxuriously soft, new dressing gown for autumn. Here’s why it’s my top pick.
Pros
- Super soft flannel fleece exterior and a sherpa fleece lining
- Cuffed sleeves
- Button-on tie waist, so the tie stays in place
- Roomy pockets for snacks and remotes
Cons
- Sizing comes up slightly smaller than the original Oodie
Why I recommend the Oodie Sherpa Dressing Gown
It’s incredibly soft and cosy
I unpacked my new Oodie dressing gown at my desk in the GH office. Within minutes, all my colleagues were coming over for a stroke, as it’s so incredibly soft.
It’s made of polyester with a flannel fleece outer and sherpa lining, with Oodie’s ‘ToastyTek’ ultra-fine micro thread helping to create a really luxurious feel.
I love the oversized fit, too, as it makes curling up on the sofa even more comfortable. The small to medium size reaches just below the knee (I’m 5ft 4in, for reference), so it keeps my legs warm without there being excess fabric around my ankles to trip me up.
It has huge pockets!
Women. Want. Pockets. One of my biggest pet peeves is when clothes don’t have pockets, so I was very happy to find that Oodie’s Sherpa Dressing Gown has massive ones that are sturdy and deep.
Not only are they buttery soft and warm, but they offer a place to stash snacks and my phone. Movie nights have never been so good…

It’s thoughtfully designed
Along with the pockets, there are loads of great little features on this dressing gown. First of all, there are the cuffed sleeves. I didn’t think I’d love the tapered wrist as much as I did, but it’s made a big difference around the house.
You can wear it when you’re cooking, making drinks and doing odd jobs, without excess fabric getting in the way. If you hate a wet dressing-gown sleeve as much as I do, you’ll realise how important those cuffed sleeves are.
Next is the button-tie waist. How many times have you had to tug the tie through the loops because its somehow become uneven? It’s not a huge annoyance, sure, but Oodie has got rid of the faff with a simple solution: adding a popper at the back to hold the tie in place.
My verdict on Oodie’s Sherpa Dressing Gown
This luxuriously soft dressing gown comes in more than 45 different colours, patterns and designs, so you’ll easily find something to suit, no matter who you’re shopping for.
I absolutely love the design but have found the sizing is slightly smaller than the original Oodie, so I recommend sizing up if you’re on the cusp between two.
At full price, it lands slightly on the expensive side but, with 30% off, it’s worthwhile adding one to your basket. Trust me, you’ll get lots of wear out of it – it’s so soft I fear I may have to wear it from now until spring.
