Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay should set an example by limiting his security details to basic level, founder of We the Leaders Movement K. Annamalai said on Thursday (October 15, 2026).
The Chief Minister should realise that placement of barricades on both sides of the roads in Coimbatore for his visit on Friday (October 16) for inaugurating the Thanthai Periyar Library and Science Centre was causing obstruction to the public, Mr. Annamalai told media persons.
With the basic security in place, people will still welcome the Chief Minister and go about their business. Normal life must not be disturbed, he said.
The government has to explain to people the reason for purchasing power for ₹35 per unit despite the State being in the forefront in wind power generation, Mr. Annamlai said, replying to a query.
The question of alliance does not arise as We the Leaders Movement was formed to bring about a transformation in politics. Rather than getting into the politics of accusation, the Movement would focus on fixing problems, he said.
The Movement will also work for breaking the culture of cult politics at the Centre as well as the State, Mr. Annamalai added.
