The Sage Charity foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting inclusive and quality education through the distribution of scholastic materials to 40 outstanding pupils of Dakata Primary School, Nassarawa local government area of Kano state.
The educational materials, which include branded school bags, exercise books and pens, were presented to the pupils to encourage academic excellence, boost their confidence and provide essential learning materials, particularly for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The intervention forms part of the foundation’s broader educational initiative aimed at supporting school-age children through educational assistance, mentorship and a transformative tutoring curriculum designed to improve learning outcomes both within and outside the classroom.
The expansion of the programme into North-West Nigeria marks another step in the foundation’s efforts to reach more vulnerable children and provide them with opportunities to learn, develop their abilities and achieve their educational aspirations
The founder of the foundation, Oye- Adeniran, said beneficiaries were selected through a process that recognised their academic performance while giving consideration to pupils from underserved households.
Adeniran added that the provision of scholastic materials would help ease some of the financial burdens on parents and guardians while encouraging regular school attendance, active classroom participation and improved academic performance.
For many pupils in public schools, the inability to obtain basic learning materials remains a major challenge that can affect their confidence, participation and overall educational development.
Recognising these challenges, the Sage Charity Foundation is promoting an integrated approach to education that combines material support with mentorship, teacher engagement, pupil participation, social inclusion and community involvement.
