A two-pack of Eufy’s SoloCam E30 is down to $189.99 at Amazon from $249.99, a $60 discount that lands within a dollar of its lowest price ever, according to price trackers. At roughly $95 per camera, it’s still an investment, but Eufy doesn’t charge a monthly subscription to view or store footage, so you won’t have to worry about recurring fees adding to the cost over time. Each camera is also IP65-rated for outdoor use and can pan 360 degrees and tilt 70 degrees, giving you enough flexibility to monitor multiple areas using a single unit.
That flexibility extends to how you power the cameras, since their built-in batteries can last around three months between charges, although frequent motion alerts could shorten that considerably. To reduce the need for manual charging, Eufy says about two hours of direct sunlight a day is enough to keep the batteries topped up, while connecting the cameras to a wired power source enables continuous recording and short pre-roll clips that capture what happened just before motion was detected—but you’ll have to buy the power cables separately.
As for video quality, the cameras record in 2K, which helps capture reasonably clear footage even after dark using infrared night vision. The catch is that there's no built-in spotlight for color night vision, so while you should be able to see a car pulling into your driveway at 2 a.m., you might not be able to tell what color it is. Footage is stored locally on a microSD card of up to 128GB or through either of two compatible Eufy HomeBase models (all sold separately)—the HomeBase S380 offers advanced AI features and terabyte-scale storage, while the S280 makes it easier to manage multiple cameras, with support for up to 16 units, giving you room to expand coverage later. That said, there are some compatibility limitations, since the E30 connects only to 2.4GHz wifi and works with Alexa and Google Assistant but not Apple HomeKit.
