A Croatian Army serviceman has won first place in the individual category at an international military drone competition in Ankara, Türkiye, while Croatia’s team finished seventh overall.
The member of the Croatian Armed Forces’ Intelligence Regiment achieved the highest individual score at the Best International Military Drone Team Competition (BIMDTC), which is being organised by the Turkish Land Forces Command and runs until 26 October.
The competition focuses on the operation of first-person-view (FPV) drones, which allow pilots to navigate using a live video feed from a camera mounted on the aircraft.
Participants from numerous countries across Europe, Asia, Africa and South America are taking part in the international event.
While the Croatian serviceman secured the individual title, the team representing the Croatian Armed Forces’ Intelligence Regiment finished seventh in the team competition.

It follows another recent success for Croatian military personnel in FPV drone competition. Members of the Croatian Armed Forces’ Special Forces Command recently won first place in the tactical category at an international military FPV drone competition in London, competing against teams from other countries.
The results in Ankara and London underline the growing role of FPV drone operation in military training and international skills competitions.
