The SPFL has invited broadcasters to bid for the UK rights to show Scottish Premiership matches from the 2029/30 season.
The current five-year, £150m deal with Sky Sports, which allows the broadcaster to show up to 60 games a season, will end at the conclusion of the 2028/29 campaign.
Premier Sports is allowed to show up to 22 matches a year, but SPFL chiefs said it is “flexible about the number of games that it shows live in future”.
A separate contract with Premier Sports covering broadcast and sponsorship rights for the Scottish League Cup is in place until the end of the 2030/31 season and will not be affected.
Neil Doncaster, SPFL group chief executive, said he is “anticipating strong interest” from broadcasters after the league recorded the highest yearly attendances in the SPFL’s history last year.
He said: “Securing strong broadcast partnerships is an essential element in maintaining a balanced and sustainable income mix for the SPFL and its clubs.
“We anticipate strong interest from broadcasters in what is widely recognised as one of Europe’s most exciting national league competitions.”
