Revolut users are among the customers affected by a service disruption following an outage affecting Google’s Cloud network.
Users reported being unable to make payments or access funds on Tuesday morning.
Outage monitor Downdetector saw around 1,500 Revolut users report an outage around 8.30am, with HSBC, Vinted and Rightmove also affected.
App users were met with a message stating ‘Something went wrong’, instructing them to ‘try again later’.
A Revolut spokesperson confirmed that the online bank is working to fix the issue and that all customer money and data are safe.
“We are currently experiencing a service disruption affecting multiple services.
“We can confirm that all our customers’ money and data are safe. We’ve been working to fix the issue since it was identified this morning and apologise to anyone affected and for any inconvenience caused.”
The issue is understood to be linked to an IT incident affecting Google Cloud.
Google reported an issue affecting multiple services in the “Europe-west2” region, believed to be in London, since late Monday evening.
It said this was causing Cloud services to experience errors and intermittent network failures.
“Our engineering team continues to investigate the issue,” Google said on its service health page.
“We apologise to all who are affected by the disruption.”
