The Atlanta Falcons dropped a 30-23 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in overtime on Sunday night.
The game ended with an interception from Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton, who picked off backup quarterback Tua Tagovailoa as he attempted to lead the Falcons on a game-tying drive.
Starting quarterback Michael Penix Jr. took a big hit from Ravens outside linebacker Tavius Robinson near the end of regulation. He missed the next play, but then returned to the field.
However, Penix was unable to return to the field after a Ravens overtime touchdown drive that lasted more than seven minutes.
When speaking to reporters postgame, Penix explained that it was this extended break that ultimately prevented him from returning to the field.
"I feel like if we had the ball first in overtime, I probably would've been out there," Penix said. "As we were sitting, what I was going through, it just started getting worse and worse as we were just sitting there. I was getting cold."
Penix finished the game with 240 yards and one touchdown on 19/32 passing. Tagovailoa completed two of his three pass attempts for 34 yards and the game-ending interception in his limited time on the field.

Penix will undergo MRI testing on Monday to determine the severity of his injury.
