Nollywood actress Chita Agwu has announced that her marriage has been legally dissolved by a court, saying she is embracing a new chapter of her life with peace, grace and dignity.
In a post shared via Instagram on Tuesday, the actress said the decision followed much thought and a deeply personal journey, adding that she would not disclose private details surrounding the divorce.
“This chapter of my life has come to an end, and I have chosen to embrace this new beginning with peace, grace, and dignity,” she said.
She noted that marriage was a personal journey and that not every relationship ended as expected, urging the public to allow individuals to move on without judgment or ridicule.
“Marriage is a personal journey, and not every story ends the way we once hoped. However, I believe that every individual deserves the freedom to move forward without judgment, ridicule, or public humiliation,” she said.
She also appealed for privacy for herself and her former partner, stating that she would not engage in public discussions about the circumstances surrounding the divorce.
“Out of respect for everyone involved, I will not be sharing private details or engaging in public discussions about the circumstances surrounding my divorce. I kindly ask that my privacy and that of my former partner be respected,” she added.
She expressed gratitude to those who had supported her, saying she was prioritising healing and personal growth as she moved forward.
“As I begin this new chapter, I choose peace over controversy, healing over bitterness, and growth over public explanations,” she said.
Reaffirming her determination to move forward, the actress added: “My marriage has ended, but my life continues. I move forward with my head held high, my dignity intact, and my heart open to the future.”
She concluded her post by thanking the public for its understanding and respect.
