Embakasi East MP Babu Owino shared an adorable moment with Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna after the Linda Mwananchi team surprised him with a birthday cake, celebrating their close bond.

The heartwarming moment unfolded on Monday, October 12, when Sifuna and members of the Linda Mwananchi movement came together to celebrate the legislator, two days after he turned 37.
In photos shared by Babu on social media, the two politicians were captured feeding each other pieces of cake, with their playful exchange winning the hearts of Kenyans.
Babu expressed gratitude to the team, describing its members as more than colleagues because of the time they spend working together.
“Today, we were honoured by the Linda Mwananchi team as they cut a birthday cake for me. This team has become a family. We spend so much time working together, and I’m truly grateful to be surrounded by such amazing people,” he said.
He thanked the team for the love and appreciation, describing the celebration as a wonderful birthday surprise.
How old is Babu Owino?
The celebration came shortly after Babu marked his 37th birthday on October 10, 2026.
The Embakasi East MP, born on October 10, 1989, used the occasion to reflect on his life journey and pay tribute to his mother, Dorcas Owino, for the sacrifices she made while raising him.
In an emotional message, Babu recalled how his mother sold chang’aa in the slums to provide for the family and give him a chance at a better future.
“Mum, you sold chang’aa in the slums, made sacrifices that the world may never fully understand, and did everything within your power to give me a better life,” he wrote.

What did Babu Owino say about his mother?
The lawmaker also credited his mother with introducing him to God, saying his faith had helped him navigate life's struggles and victories.
“Today, as I celebrate my birthday, I celebrate you too. Mum, I celebrate myself, but I honour you first,” Babu stated.
The MP's birthday celebrations also included spending time with elderly people, whom he said he wanted to honour for their wisdom.
