On a wild day in college football, Miami avoided joining the list of upsets by taking down Florida State 43-35 in double overtime.
The Seminoles gave the Hurricanes a strong fight despite entering the game as heavy underdogs, taking Miami to overtime on the road. While Florida State was able to get the game to a second overtime, the ball did not bounce its way in the frame.
Florida State had two chances to try for a miracle touchdown in an attempt to extend the game, but both plays ended in heartbreaking fashion. Instead of throwing incomplete passes, Florida State actually seemed to score touchdowns until the officials ruled otherwise, ending the game in Miami's favor.
Here's a look at how Miami escaped with a win.

Miami beats Florida State in double overtime
After Miami and Florida State both scored touchdowns in the first overtime, the Hurricanes opened the second OT with a touchdown and a two-point conversion. That put the pressure on Florida State to follow suit.
The Seminoles, however, went backwards on their double overtime drive after a sack and a false start put them back to 4th-and-21. With one more chance to get a first down, Ashton Daniels appeared to Micahi Danzy in the endzone for a miracle touchdown, but the play was called back on a questionable holding call.
That penalty pushed Florida State back to a 4th-and-31 situation, making it so that they essentially had to try a Hail Mary. After Daniels rolled out and threw the ball, Duce Robinson seemed to come down with the ball for another potential miracle.
However, it turns out that Bryce Fitzgerald stole the ball out of Robinson's hands for the game-ending interception. The play went to replay review, where the officials upheld the call to seal the game for Miami even though Robinson had a case that he came down with the ball first.

The win means that Miami survives what would have been a major upset in its in-state rivalry and makes the Hurricanes one of the few undefeated teams remaining.
