Delhi Traffic Police released a traffic advisory on October 15, 2026, ahead of the flag march in the Central Park located in the Connaught Place area of New Delhi on October 16.
The flag march, or ‘Tiranga Lehrao ’ march, has been called by the Cockroach Janta Party to protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision exercise.
The march has been called at 5 p.m. by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke. The authorities have, however, closed Central Park in Connaught Place for two days due to ‘administrative reasons.’
A The Hindu report notes the Deputy Commissioner of Police Neha Yadav saying that prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the BNSS were in force in Connaught Place and adjoining areas to “maintain peace and tranquillity and protect human life and public and private property”.
The officer also added that a limited number of people could be allowed to carry the national flag and sing the national anthem at a suitable location. “It may, however, be duly noted that display and carrying of National Flag and singing of National Anthem are to be done in prescribed manner while according due respect, dignity, and decorum,” Ms. Yadav said.
Widespread traffic disruptions are expected in the national capital, with many of the roads around the Central Park being closed or barricaded with the flow of traffic being diverted.
