1 dead, 5 hurt after overtaking motorcycle slams into tricycle in Pangasinan

One person died while five others were injured after an overtaking motorcycle crashed into an incoming tricycle in Urbiztondo, Pangasinan.

In the report of Jasmien Gabriel Galban for GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon on Monday, police said the motorcycle rider was traveling along the national highway when he decided to overtake the vehicle in front of him.

However when the rider switched to the opposite lane, he collided with the tricycle loaded with passengers.

The rider was killed while his companion was injured, as were the tricycle driver and his three passengers,

Investigation is ongoing.

Efforts are being made to get a comment from the rider’s family as well as the other victims.

Meanwhile, a 32-year old rider died after he hit a light post in Barangay San Juan in San Jacinto, Pangasinan.

Police said the victim was on his way home to Manaoag in Pangasinan when the accident happened.

Investigation revealed the incident occurred in what is described as a “snake road” due to the winding roads in the area.

The rider allegedly lost control of his motorcycle, leading him to hit the post, causing a fatal head injury.

He was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Prior to the accident, a relative said the victim would occasionally drink and ride home.. —RF, GMA News
