Those in a position of power at La Liga giants Real Madrid consider star frontman Kylian Mbappé to be very much in the running for the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
This of course comes ahead of the very best player in world football being crowned by France Football in just a matter of days’ time.
The Ballon d’Or ceremony is scheduled to take place on Monday evening, in a lavish, star-studded affair in the English capital of London.
The aforementioned Mbappé is considered to be amongst the frontrunners for the ‘Golden Ball’, albeit behind both Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal and Bayern Munich goalscorer Harry Kane.
If the latest word stemming from Spain’s capital is anything to go by, though, then Real Madrid, as a club, appear to remain confident in the chances of their star man lifting the coveted prize early next week.
As per a report from Blancos journalist Javier Rodríguez Pascual:
‘There will be a Real Madrid presence at the Ballon d’Or gala. From the white club, there is optimism that Mbappé can win it.’
