In the 2026 edition of the Financial Times global ranking, Portugal’s higher education institutions have strengthened the international reputation of their executive MBA programmes, driven by factors such as career advancement, international experience, and commitments to sustainability.
Iscte leads Portuguese institutions
The Executive Education programme offered by Iscte has become the top Portuguese programme on a global scale, securing a position of 55th — an improvement of 26 places compared to the previous year and 45 places since 2023. With respect to the various metrics published by the Financial Times, the institution is notable for coming 5th in the world in the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) category, 22nd in
relation to its Alumni Network, and 40th regarding participants' prior work experience.
The Lisbon MBA offered by Católica-Lisbon and Nova SBE in association with the MIT Sloan School of Management has once again remained in the world's top 100 programmes for five years in a row. This executive programme, which ranks first in the group of courses given entirely in English in Portugal, came 63rd according to the publication's three-year average and achieved 36th position in Europe.
Porto Business School climbs ranking
Porto Business School also achieved considerable progress, moving up 13 places in the global ranking, from 95th to 82nd in 2026; this result puts the business school in the group of the ten institutions which have shown the fastest annual rate of advancement on the list, a reflection of the effect of the curriculum restructuring carried out over the past few years.
