Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) Chairman and Managing Director Immadi Prudhvitej on Saturday (October 24, 2026) instructed field officials across 12 coastal districts to maintain maximum operational readiness following IMD warnings of ‘Cyclone Arnab’ expected between October 26 and 28.
Chairing a teleconference with Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers, the CMD ordered division-wise control rooms to be set up in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Kakinada, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru, and Polavaram.
To ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical services, field teams have been mobilised with emergency vehicles, replacement transformers, electric poles, and clearing equipment for immediate damage restoration. The distribution utility’s corporate headquarters will monitor grid stability around the clock.
Consumers have been cautioned to avoid fallen electrical wires, damaged poles, and uprooted trees, and to report power disruptions through the toll-free helpline 1912 or district control rooms.
